I didn’t believe it at first.

But I kept seeing stories fill my feed on Medium. Everyone was talking about Gumroad. Like it was a money-printing machine.

I thought they were all full of it. Yet, Gumroad was always in the back of my mind.

As a lifelong entrepreneur, I’m always looking for new ways to make money. And my favorite ways to make money are where I do little to no work and make a killing.

And Gumroad was looking like one of those killer opportunities.

I Needed Expert Advice From A Pro

So, I asked my friend if it was a good idea.

I won’t tell you his real name, because he’s Internet famous. But it rhymes with Latt Millywhite.

One afternoon, a few months back, I phoned him up.

“Hey man, what are your thoughts on Gumroad?”

“It’s a gold mine,” he said.

“Really?” I asked, not convinced.

“Yes, I’m crushing it. Selling printable stickers for kids.”

“How much have you made?”

“I just cleared fifty thousand last month,” he said casually.

“US dollars?” I asked.

“No, pounds, man.”

“Wow, that’s like sixty-five thousand dollars.”

“I know. And I’ll probably double that this month,” he added.

I was in shock. Had he really made that much money? From Gumroad?

“Look, it’s easy. You just create a digital product, set a price, and post it on Gumroad. They take a small cut and then you get paid.”

“That’s it?” I asked, still not convinced.

“Yep, that’s it,” he said. “I’m telling you, it’s a gold mine.”

He was a genius, after all. Always getting into the hot new money-making trends before anyone else. So I figured if Latt Millywhite could do it, I could too.
