3 Questions For The World’s Poets
Poets of the world — I have three questions for you:
- What if your poetry could only touch one heart?
- Would you still write poetry?
- Would you still want to share it with the world?
As a poet, I have a story to tell the world.
A message I must share with everyone who will listen. With everyone who will read my words. It’s my job as an author-cum-poet to spread this message of love, hope, and comfort by the written word.
However, as poets focused on writing our next great poem, we often forget one important thing: people.
The people who read our poems.
As writers, it’s easy to lose our readers in the forest of words we create.
We focus so heavily on sharing our message with the masses that we forget about those masses themselves. The people who read what we write are just as essential as the poems they read — no more, no less.
And for this reason, I cannot share my message with the world on my own. Without others to share it with, it’s useless — or at least, less impactful than it could be.
So I ask again:
What if your poetry touched just one heart? Would you still write it? Would you still want to share it…
